Operational Orders for Lieutenant Jenkins. TOP SECRET

2nd Battalion Parachute Regiment Operation Red Herring

Ref Maps - Northern France  Sector 5/D

1. Your force will consist of 3 Platoon (17 men)  plus attached support teams dropped by parachute 2 miles from target 0500hrs 8th September. Assault at officers discretion. A 4 operative patrol from the Special Air Service will meet you on the ground and assist in the operation. They have been observing the target for past 48hrs. Assigned to you also is a Guardian Walker from 1st Mechanized Scout Group.

2. Intel leading to location of an enemy 'Totenkorp' factory (see raw intelligence attached here ) has been discovered. This was visually confirmed by Special Air Service operatives. Factory is located in a valley with only one main supply route in and out.  Beware opportunities for outflanking enemy are slim to nil due to extreme terrain resulting in a frontal attack only viable option. 

3. Factory to be destroyed by any means necessary along with any / all Totenkorps but factory is priority.  Factory destruction Success code word to be transmitted is Fisherman . Unsuccessful code to be transmitted Broken Rod. Intel also suggests noted German scientist Proffesser Lange may be present at location. If this is so and the opportunity presents ones self capture or elimination is ordered. On conformation of Proffesser Langes elimination transmit code word Mad Hat. On subjects capture transmit Jerry Can.

4. Intel on enemy dispositions are a small garrison force with heavy fortifications avalible  *WARNING* Visual Intel reports large number of Totenkorps at factory in pens awaiting transports. 

5. RAF assists will attack targets in locality to reduce chance of air drop and march to target being intercepted.  RAF cover for attack unavailable due to terrain at target location however once success or unsuccessful code transmitted RAF assets will be scrambled to cover withdrawal back to Allied lines (See route marked on page 4). Withdrawal route is subject to on ground officers opinions if changes are needed at time however can not guarantee RAF cover for any changes.
