Konflikt 47 Unit 24 Commander

Back again! Not done much hobby recently stuck waiting for Victory at Sea to arrive, which should be now sometime mid August. In a bid to give me more content and something to do I have blatantly decided to steal my good buddy Alex's idea (check out his blog Here) and get some in depth looks at my different units. This set of posts as you can see from title will be about my Konflikt 47 units. To combat the German Okkultekorps (Alex's army) the Allies have started Unit 24, this unit has been specifically tasked with thwarting Professor Lange Germans notorious scientist and evil genius. Led by the indefatigable Major Whitaker,

Model is from Warlord games.

a graduate of the Royal Military College and he served in the last year of WW1, though his records are sealed. Rumour has it  he served in a unit that dealt with  the occult even back then.
He has had reasonable success against the Okkultekorps but has yet to lead the troops into battle, leaving that to his special project.

 Lt Jenkins

Lt Jenkins served with distinction in the Parachute regiment. He was one of the few to make it back from Operation Market Garden. He was noticed when Major Whitaker requested a parachute unit to take out a Totenkorp, Lt Jenkins was reccomended and his unit went into action (Here is the battle report for that). Major Whitaker was impressed with how the Lieutenant handled a difficult mission. While making their way back to Allied lines being pursued by Okkultekorps Lt Jenkins was caught by the dreaded Shreckwulfen. This was not to be the end though, Major Whitaker found the barely alive Lieutenant (click Here for that story) and using Rift technology Brought gh the Lieutenant back stronger.

The model is from Westwind Wierd War 2 range and I made home brew rules for him Here.

Not Quite Tabletop but still Wargaming

Been quiet for a while I know, Covid 19 has put a hold on a lot of stuff. I am just awaiting delivery of Victory at Sea. A WW2 naval game from Warlord Games. This was pre ordered and supposed to be released April but thanks to Covid 19 its been put back till August or late July I believe.

I've painted "most" of my minis now and honestly I just wanna play some games. Modelling and painting is fun but there is nothing better than rolling dice with friends (Usually while eating Pringles and Cherry Pepsi Max). I've got ideas for Konflikt 47, a Dragon Rampant army ready to go and Rumbleslam to show as well. The small Blood bowl league I started with friends was ace as well. We had just set up 2 leagues as we have each got 2 teams now. The champions of both leagues will go head to head in a super bowl type match. I have Halflings and Wood Elves ready for these leagues. You can find the posts about the Halflings here. Though I think they have had a  team
name change since that post.

The Wood Elves are here.

With the restrictions slowly getting eased hopefully the leagues will kick off soon.

The one shining Wargaming light through out all this (Apart from talking about Wargaming) is the Bloodbowl 2 Ps4 league I am in, it has done wonders for my mental health especially with lockdown. After the birth of my first son I discovered a group on FaceBook called Dadsnet. It's a great support group for Dad's. It has developed into quite a community now. Within the group there formed a group of computer game dads, here in this group Blood Bowl 2 was mentioned and a few people piped up that they liked it and eventually a small league was formed. We have had a main league and various cups and smaller fun leagues running at the same time. We also try to give teams a theme from team name to player names. My Chaos Team were named after Rock bands so I had stars Throttley Crew and Black Stabbeth. My Violence Together team is called the Bakersfield Massacres and is full of 89s actions heroes and villains such as a saurus called Ming the Merciless or a Kroxigor called Chunk.
The main league has been running for almost 7 or 8 seasons now I believe, we even have a trophy that gets posted around (Soon to be updated to a new trophy especially made for the league) . Though not just with one team we have had a basic league where I ran Humans, a random choice league where your team was determined by a spin of a wheel. I got Underworld Denzins, man that was not a fun league. Then there was a 2 season league where I ran a chaos team. The latest league has just finished after 3 seasons with one team. I chose a mixed team called Violence Together. This team is made up of Orcs, Lizardmen, goblins and ogres. I mainly used orcs lizardmen and goblin secret weapons. This was my most successful team yet and I was in with a shout at the title till my last 3 games ended in disaster and dropped me out of the running (Though my Saurus intercepting a throw will always be remembered).  Next up we are doing a basic team league, so you are only allowed a team that came with the basic game or bonus pre order team. None of the DLC are allowed. I wanted to do something different to a bash team so have gone Wood elves. Slightly dreading it as they are AR 7 and I'm not used to passing teams but hey!! Let's give it a go.  A couple of players in the league want to do something with YouTube and the league so you may see more from that here if it happens. I'll keep you posted with how my Wood Elf adventure goes (I'm already assuming it will go badly, there are some amazing BB players on the league and I am not one of them ).

Well I hope you are staying safe and fingers crossed we can all get some games in soon!!!

Quick Rough play Through of Rumbleslam

Thought I would give Rumbleslam a quick run through before I attempt more games. Lined up the 2 teams and away I went.

Greenskin Team

Human Team

The bell rang and the Greenskins got off the mark first. The goblin brawler raced forward and started beating on the halfling brawler, landing some solid hits.

The goblin seemingly fearless, attacks

He gets a beat down bonus for rolling high on his attack

The human brawler leaps forward, slams a hit of the goblin and then locks him in a leg lock

The leg lock is extremely effective!

If you beat an opponents defense dice by more than 5 you get a Beat down bonus (if the defense beats the attacker by more than 4 they get a Reversal bonus).

As orc brawler moved forward, the halfling brawler decided to take his revenge on the goblin.  He punched the goblin in the face knocking him out, seizing his opportunity the halfling lifted the goblin and threw him out the ring.

See ya!

The halfling grappler ran forward punched the orc brawler but backed away as the orc did not look happy!!
The human brawler saw his chance and bounced off the ropes!

Off the ropes gives the wrestler a boost!

The brawler clothes lined the orc grappler hard, sending him sprawling to the ground!

Boom!!!!
The ogre decided to join the action stepping out to catch the goblin trying to sneak around

"oh boy!"

The Ogre punched the goblin and then grabbed him, pulled him into the air and choke slammed the goblin into the matt!!!!

This was not good for the goblin

One KO'd goblin
The troll moved over and attacked  the human brawler. The brawler went to pick up the knocked down orc.

The crowd gave an approving cheer but the orc fought back cracking the human with a punch!

The halfling grappler ran around the Ogre and picked up the goblin and threw him out of the ring!

The orc team were down 2 players. Its not looking good,

The orc brawler towered over the halfling brawler and hit him hard. The halfling was still standing.

Orc and Halfling toe to toe
The human grappler get up from knockdown, runs to the turnbuckle and unleashes the 450 Splash!! The orc blocks the attack but it hits the Halfling  brawler KO'ing him!!!!!!!!

Disaster!!!
The 2 big guys turn on each other causing a small amount damage each

Heavy Hitters!
The human brawler was up next, he punched the orc grappler but with very little effect so he took a run, bounced off the rope and clothes lined the orc back to the ground.

Train wreck coming thruougrh!!!!!
The human grappler and orc brawler exchange hits, the sheer power of the orc attack pushed human grappler back 2 squares

Time was running out and the Greenskins need to do something drastic!
The ogre punches the troll and tries to choke slam him but the troll fights it off and hits the ogre with a spine buster!!

The ring shakes as a big guy falls

The Halfling grappler climbs the turn buckle and leaps at the orc grappler!

He hits it but the orc is still standing!!
The human grappler climbs the turnbuckle and lands a 450 splash but this orc is also still standing!!

450!! Outta no where!
The roar of the crowd encouraged the Halfling brawler to recover slightly from his knock out

How is he still walking!!!
The halfling quickly moves to the ropes bounces off them and sends a flying headbutt into the Orc grappler!

Here he goes off the ropes!

Crack!!! Orc down
The orc collapsed after the Halfling headbutt. The bell rang and the Human side having threw 2 Greenskins out of the ring and lost none of their own team were victorious.

That was a fun little run through. I'm sure I messed some rules up but I grasped most of it I think. Can't wait to do more games of this!!!

Stay safe people

Dungeons and Dragons

Got to play Dungeons and Dragons again last night using modern technology (Bloody Covid 19!). Discord and Roll 20 were our tools for adventure.

My character is a Dragon Born fighter called Garrit. He was a guard for his clan but after being away on a patrol he came  returned to find his village destroyed. He joined the Waterdeep guard to hopefully find out what happened. His weapon is a Halberd.
In the group were my Dragon born, an elf rogue, an elf ranger, a dwarf Barbarian and a Tiefling sorcerer.
We had heard something had happened at the town of Night stone so the group headed that way. They got to the town to find the bell ringing and  Wargs in the town square. Unfortunately my dragon born was leapt on by a Warg and pinned while the Warg tried to chew on me. Thankfully my Dragon born is of red dragon descent so the Warg got my breath attack full in the face. It collapsed dead on me. Another Warg was killed and we set about exploring. The Elf Rogue found some goblins and killed them. One was taken prisoner and interrogated. It informed the party that Giants had attacked  the town and the goblins had seized  the  opportunity to loot the town. The goblin was disposed off and the party moved on. A couple more goblins were killed (My dragon born got one. Surprised a goblin staring at treasure.).

We stopped there, working out the tech had eaten in to our game tine so we called it an evening and will carry on soon. The party moved to lvl 2 so now I have action surge for my fighter!

I shall jeep you informed of what happens!

RCBBL Champions obtain Trophy at last!!

Rumbleslam!!!!

Today Rumbleslam arrived!! Thank you RkStudio Store.

It comes in a very nice box I have to say. Inside I was well impressed with the contents. The rule book is brilliant and the artwork is fantastic.

You get a ring made out of mouse matt material (neoprene I believe) to play on.

This is  a nice quality mat. I expected a paper or card one so this was a nice surprise.
You get wrestler cards, some very nice dice and acrylic tokens (Again a nice touch, could easily have put cardboard tokens in).

Now the wrestlers. With the starter set you get 2 teams of wrestlers. Human and Green skins.

The human team. You seems to get 2 standard humans, 2 halflings and an big guy/ogre type chap.

The green skins roughly match, 2 orcs, 2 goblins and a massive Troll!

The models are really nice sculpts and come with clear bases which is a first for me. I'm gonna have to paint them before gluing them to the bases so I don't get paint on them. Can't wait to get these built up!!

As an added bonus I was also sent an extra wrestler!

Proper old school Macho Man Randy Savage Well not quite but we know it is 😂

The Valkyrie arrives!

During this Covid crisis my hobby has been reduced a lot. I did order some Barbarian reinforcements from RalPartha. Seeing my friends progress on his 15mm Dragon rampant force I needed some more troops!

Joining Chief Asgreth for war is his wife Kethri the Valkyrie and her Midnight Spears.

Barbarian women are not much for staying home and looking after the home life. They go on raids alongside the males. Kethri is by far the strongest of the females and chose Asgreth as her mate .  She shuns traditional Barbarian female dress preferring fancier outfits but with relentless practice they do not inhibit her fighting style. She brings with her  a unit of spearmen called the Midnight Spears. Raised from members of her family they are utterly loyal to Kethri.

Chief Asgreth's scouts reported the cursed UNORP have war machines so he sent word for the Barbarian smiths to bring him his own war machine.

The bolt thrower will give the Chiefs force some longer range now to strike the Green skins.

As Chief Asgreth has gathered the tribes together, the Elder Shaman has allowed the use of the fabled Dragon Banner. An ancient banner held a loft when the Barbarians were united as one tribe. Could this be a new awakening!
