Tanks Modern Age BMP 2

For Christmas my friend Matt (Team owner of the Outriders from RCBBL) got me a BMP 2 for my Russian Tanks Modern Age force. A welcome bit of speed now has now been added to the force.
Super simple to build I think it only involved around 10 pieces that needed to be stuck together.  Love a simple build!
Then on to paint it, now I checked the box art and some Google images. It turns out BMP 2s were not the most colourful of vehicles at all.  So I promise it has had paint on it and a wash. Though of you look at box art and model you will see what I mean virtually the same colour.  Well anyway here it is

Hopefully the Russians will be going into action soon

Tanks Modern Age Hind

The last match of the RCBBL third week was cancelled due to a pet emergency on Sunday night. So to cheer myself up I assembled and painted the Russian Hind I had bought with Christmas money.

Assembly was fairly easy, thankfully not to many tiny pieces to stick on. A nice touch was the inclusion of magnets in the kit. I had enough to magnetise the rotor blades and the helicopter to the flight stand. This should make it a bit easier to  to transport.

On to painting!  Unfortunately I threw away the box with picture on!  Thankfully a quick Google got me a picture the colours I need. This is what I went with

And here she is in

I'm happy with her now to go find some tanks to kill!

Apologies for being quiet on the blog post front
Stuff is happening the halflings are finished and the wood elves are also but awaiting my treeman who were forgot in my shops delivery. Fingers crossed for next week. Then I can show you the Mistwood Marauders and Fling Low sweet Chariot.

Got the last game in the RCBBL third week tonight to play and in the process of sorting out a konflikt 47 game.

RCBBL Round 3 Undead vs Orcs. Elven Union vs Orcs

The fans gathered and the teams got ready for RCBBL round 3!

Crypt Kickers vs Bearwood Brawlerz

The crowds definitely favoured the Crypt Kickers today with more undead fans than orcs. The Kickers also brought thanks to inducements a weather mage who immediately changed the weather.
The Brawlerz won the toss and elected to receive the ball.

The Brawlerz putting faith in their new agility 4 blitzer pushed hard on one side and the blitzer made his way through a gap and headed for open space.
The Brawlerz thrower scooped up the ball and threw it for the blitzer. He caught it and headed for the end zone.

The centre of the pitch was basically a giant brawl as one would expect from orcs and undead. The Kickers star Ghoul leapt over some players and blitzed the Brawlerz ball carrier sending him crashing to the dirt dropping the ball. The ghoul grabbed the ball ending the threat on the end zone for now. A Brawlerz lineman seeing the ball carrier go down ran to assist, the  Brawlers blitzer got to his feet and tackled the ghoul making the ball loose again. The blitzer grabbed in and staggered over the line.

The teams reset and the Kickers prepared to receive. The ball went up and a ghoul grabbed it and the Kickers started to form a cage around the ball carrier.

The Brawlerz defence got ready to take on the cage when the ghoul sped out of the cage and attempted in an amazing move to break through. He passed 4 dodges I believe but failed one and managed to KO himself

With the ball loose. The Brawlerz wasted no time grabbing it and sprinting down the side of the pitch opposite to the cage. Other Brawlerz moved into blocking positions. And the Brawlerz managed to run in another TD.

The match kicked off again but half time whistle blew.

The second half began with the Kickers receiving the ball. A riot then started so each team lost a turn.

The Kickers formed a cage and headed down field.  The Brawlers tried a different approach to this cage. A black orc led the charge and smashed into the corner of the cage. 

In the ensuring melee a black orc, a mummy and some skeletons I believe became casualties but no major injuries were received. The Brawlerz fought their way through the cage and grabbed the ball. Breaking out the Brawlerz made for the end zone and scored

The teams set up again for the kick off and another riot broke out! Another turn was lost while the riot was stopped. Eventually the ball was kicked off and the undead made their attack.  A ghoul went to leap over a line of players and crashed to the floor. The Brawlerz defence held and the Kickers mummy got picked on a little bit 

The mummy was brought down and the final whistle blew. Brawlerz win. One of the Brawlerz  Blitzers levelled up gaining strip ball. 

Corpse Sporkers vs The Outriders 

The orcs and elven Union sides faced off 

Sweltering heat struck again during the match taking out a few players. The Outriders fumbled a throw leading the the Sporkers grabbing an early touchdown.

A hard fought match ended

The Outriders suffered 2 KOs and one injury but that was just badly hurt.

The Sporker Blitzer gained Frenzy and an Outrider lineman gained block. The Outriders also bought a re roll, cheerleaders and a cheerleading coach. 

One match left to play in round 3! 

Hello 2020

Welcome 2020!

Happy New year folks. Thought I would do one of those big review / looking forward to the year type posts.

It was a good year for my gaming. The konflikt 47 campaign went along smoothly creating an awesome narrative and characters being formed.
My Tanks Modern Age force grew and I got Blood Bowl!

Didn't get to play D&D as much as I'd like (4 on 4 off shifts and 2 kids under 7 always is a time sucker) but the group I started with all got into Blood Bowl and the RCBBL was born!!! The blood bowl posts seem to be my most popular ones and they will keep coming . The league is amazing and everyone is having fun. Bit gutted the store league I wanted to enter fell through but this friends league is a laugh and everyone will have a second team for the second season (My orcs may retire and wood elves or halflings may make an appearance).  Also they appear to have started collecting Tanks Modern Age which is excellent news and potential more battles for me.

My kids tried pokemon D&D and seemed to like it so I may have set a little spark in them for role-playing.

The painting side of the hobby, well I'll keep plodding on. I make no bones about it I prefer gaming to painting but I like playing with painted models so needs must.

On the other games front, got a fair few models for various games and I really need to start playing. Operation Last train Home is a solo game I have mentioned and I really want to play this. With both kids going to school now I should be able to, I have 15mm Sci fi version and ww2 models ready to go.  There is also the 15mm Barbarian army I have been slowly gathering. Me and Alex Does Hobby will have to have a Dragon Rampant game in the next few months.

Halfling Blood Bowl Team

As you know my wife bought me the Halfling blood bowl team. After listening to many blood bowl podcasts  (2 Drunk Flings and Talk Nuffle) I feel the call of the Fling nation as its known. I'm awaiting some treeman (hopefully  incoming next week) to throw my halflings to victory....... Well maybe a draw.

I opened the team box with glee and the sprues are tiny!

They were a bit fiddly to assemble (glue halfling foot to halfling leg???) but they went together OK. The models are really nice and brilliantly Halfling. Some of the models have saucepans as helmets some have tea pots or culinders! Love it.

Even the balls are sandwiches and pasties!
Brilliant can't wait to put some paint on these guys!

Christmas Haul

First off Merry Christmas to one and all and a Happy New Year!
With 2 kids under 6 yesterday as you can imagine was a haze of wrapping paper invasions, battery finding and trying to stop them eating all the chocolate. I did get some hobby related stuff though. The wife bought me the Halfling team for Blood bowl. I've seen several YouTube videos and heard podcasts from 2 Drunk Flings and I have slowly been converted to giving Halflings a crack in Blood Bowl.  Gonna be a fun experience

Also got enough cash to buy some treemen as well. A must for any halfling team. 

Also in Santa's sack was this awesome dice tower.

In Tanks Modern Age my Russians have received reinforcements in the shape of a BMP

As you can see in the above picture I also got some Games Workshop PS4 games
Death Guard and Inquistor Martyr. Not seen Death Guard in action but have seen Inquistor so we shall see how they play.

I also got this new book now while not wargaming related. If you look at the front cover definatkjy like Konflikt 47

The book is called Tin Can tommies and boy do they look like British Automatons! Can't wait to get reading.
