The Coming Storm

 Tara followed Knight Hudson along the trail behind them her rag tag group of survivors followed. Knight Hudson stopped at a curve in the trail, he peered around the corner, and then turned back to her

"Looks like the super mutants have had the same idea as us."

Tara cursed, everywhere they go there are super mutants. 

"Are they everywhere because it seems so?" Tara asked frustrated,

"Sadly yes they are the product of humans not being responsible with technology, that's a big reason why the Brotherhood of Steel was formed. To claim technology so evil doers can't use in for bad purposes. Right we are here just past this corner is the area in front of the cave. An old death claw hunting ground. so I have no idea if there are any still in the area" the Knight replied,

Jess and Doug moved up next to Tara, Hudson carried on talking,

"There are 5 sirens in a square pattern, not sure if they still work but they were used to scare or draw the Deathclaws where the hunters wanted them to go. Might be useful if one appears. Tara these people look to you now, you give off an aura of hope don't waste it. I have upgraded your pip boy so it gives you  VATS now . Should give you a boost in combat. " He pointed at her pip boy.

Tara nodded in thanks. 

"If we take out the super mutant leader they will probably break and run" Jess said, Knight Hudson nodded in agreement,

"They might think the same thing and come after you \Tara so watch out" Doug added. Tara grimaced not an idea she liked. Thunder rumbled in the distance,

Tara lifted her laser rifle up and looked at the others,

"Lets do this"

This is the last tutorial scenario where all the rules come together. Tara is now heroic giving her access to VATS (she now gets AP for quick actions), luck points and critical hits. She also makes Dogmeat heroic as well! The super mutants have a heroic character also. Simple mission this one, kill the oppositions heroic character or at the end of 6 turns be the closest to the cave entrance. There is a chance of a Death claw appearing.

Turn 1

Tara starts the battle off, the super mutants have got the ground closest the cave. So she and the others will have to take it from them. She activated hers VATS giving her 1 AP. She spotted in the distance the Aviator mutant from the Junkyard, resilient fella ain't ya she thought. She raised her laser rifle and fired 2 long range shots, 1 missed but the second struck home causing 1 damage and setting the super mutant on fire! Using her AP she moved up into cover behind a car. One of the mutant hounds saw the laser shots and sniffed the air. Humans! It raced forward snapping its jaws. Jess spots the mutant hound bounding forward and levels her assault rifle. Her first shot hits for 2 damage the second shot goes wide.

An enslaved Tech moves with the super mutants, the survivors see its Ted!! That must be how they found out about the cave the traitorous dog! Ted moves forward and fires at Tara but misses. Dogmeat charges forward into the mutant hound. He attacks the hound and causes 2 damage.

Knight Hudson strides forward and spots an incoming mutant hound he raises his baseball bat and charges forward hoping his power armour gives him the edge. A super mutant remembers the Brutes words "Find the pale human in blue" and moves off in search of Tara. Doug moves up and fires at the mutant hound but misses.

The Aviator super mutant takes 1 damage from the fire and can not put it out so stays on fire. He moves forward and shoots at Tara but misses (Probably because he is on fire).The Brute charges forward into combat with Knight Hudson,

Turn 2

Knight Hudson hits the mutant hound twice with his baseball bat causing 2 damage. Ted again shoots at Tara, he its once and does 1 damage. Dogmeat misses twice in combat with the mutant hound, the mutant hound in combat with Knight Hudson manages to bite his arm causing 1 damage and injuring his arm. Doug fires into the melee and manages to hit the Brute for 1 damage.

The mutant hound fighting Dogmeat clamps his jaws down onto Dogmeats leg damaging it and causing 1 damage. A screeching roar echoed across the battlefield, the Death claw had arrived!!

Things just got serious!!

Tara gets 2 AP this turn and moves up into cover and fires twice at Ted but misses. The Brute swings his sledgehammer down striking Knight Hudson but his armour holds. Jess sees the Death claw and runs for cover desperate to get out of sight. The Aviator super mutant charges into combat with Tara determined to kill her!

The super mutant continues his hunt for Tara, he finds one human but its not wearing blue. The Death Claw roars and charges Doug!

"Wrong human!"

Turn 3

Tara gets no AP this time, she shoots twice in close combat and misses both times but uses a luck token and manages a hit causing1 damage. The mutant hound fighting Knight Hudson does not manage to connect with its bite. Dogmeat kills the mutant hound he was fighting and rushes into combat with the Aviator mutant.

Ted shoots into the melee in front of him, it didn't bother him who he hit, his shot struck the Aviator square in the back and his second shot missed. Jess moves towards the siren to try and draw the Death Claw away. The Aviator misses his attacks on Tara and Doug dodges a massive Death Claw swipe and runs away from the giant beast.

The Brute smashes Knight Hudson twice but again his armour holds! Knight Hudson focuses on the mutant hound and hits it twice for 2 damage. The super mutant searching for Tara spots his target and throws a frag grenade at her. The blast takes out Dogmeat! Causes 4 damage on Tara and 1 damage on the Aviator mutant. The Death Claws roars in frustration and charges into the fight going on between the hound, Brute and Knight Hudson.

Turn 4

Tara gets no AP again, she grabs her stim pack and uses it. Then tries to shoot the Aviator and misses. Ted seeing the dog get blown up sees the battle going the mutants way and does not want to end up as dinner so he charges into combat with Tara. Jess activates the siren pulling the Death Claw out of the combat towards the sirens sound. A super mutant spotted Jess and charged into combat. He missed his first strike.

Knight Hudson smashes his baseball bat into the hound, it collapses and does not get back up again. He then swings at the Brute causing 2 damage. The Brute returns the strikes hitting a first time but the Knights armour holds. A second smash cause 1  to Knight Hudson. Doug moves further away from the Death Claw and fires at the Brute causing 2 damage.

The Aviator sensing victory hits Tara for 1 damage. The Death Claw roars and lopes back into combat with the Brute and Knight Hudson.

Turn 5

The Brute pounds the Knights armour but it holds again, Knight Hudson assessing the situation and sees the closing storm. He breaks from combat relying on his armour to save him from any hits and moves towards the cave. Ted tries to hit Tara with his gun but misses twice. Tara is now in a desperate fight, she grits her teeth no way are these things gonna stop her from finding out what happened to Bobby. She fired her laser rifle twice at the Aviator setting him on fire again and the second blast killing him. She activated her VATS and shot Ted with a critical hit from her laser rifle. Ted dropped to the floor dead, Tara kicked his corpse "Treacherous scum"

The super mutant hits Jess for 1 damage, she retaliates but the mutants armour holds. The Death Claw swipes at the Brute but his armour holds

Turn 6

The super mutant hits Jess for 2 damage, Tara gets 2 AP and makes a dash for the cave. On the way she cracks of a quick shot at the super mutant fighting Jess hitting him for 1 damage. The Brute realises the storm is closing in and breaks from combat dodging a Death Claw swipe. He then makes a run for the cave.

Knight Hudson sees Tara and the settlers making a break from the cave, he hears the roar of the Brute also making for the cave. He grits his teeth and charges at the Brute to stop him getting to the cave. Hudson misses his opening strike, Jess pops the cap of her Nuka Cherry drinks it. She shoots at the super mutant and misses. Using the boost given to her by the Nuka Cherry she breaks from combat and runs for the cave. Doug charges into the Brute as well unloading his assault rifle into the Brute causing 1 damage. the winds started to whip up dust and out of the dust cloud the Death Claw charges into the Brute, Knight and Doug's combat.

End of the Game  Survivor win (by inches!)

Tara ran up to the cave entrance she herded the few settlers that had hid from the battle inside. Out of the dust and whip Jess emerged running full tilt. 

"Damn that was close!" she said,

Over the wind and thunder Tara could hear the Death Claw roar, 2 silhouettes appear one dragging the other, she readied her weapon but lowered it when she saw Knight Hudson dragging Doug into the cave. The storm descended  as it did  a small shadow appeared limping and whining, 

"Dogmeat!!!"

Tara rushed out and grabbed Dogmeat, she got a stimpack out and injected him. Then she lay back against the cave wall cuddling Dogmeat. Everyone huddled close as the Rad storm lashed the area.

That's it, the tutorial scenarios are done. Next up I will use the settlement mode as Tara and her band begin to rebuild after the rad storm. Will Tara find out about the 54s? Also what happened top her husband.
