The Lion Warriors have landed!!

 I have started painting the recent influx of space marines! After a too long look at the list of space marine chapters I finally settled on one. The Lion Warriors, a primaris chapter with very little known about them. This makes em perfect for me and gives me an almost freehand with their lore and details. Yellow and black is their main paint scheme. This would make them stand out against my other armies. I've completed 3 squads so far.

First up some assault terminators 

These guys will hopefully be my shock troops deep striking in and hitting stuff hard. Armed with thunder hammers and lightning claws. You'll notice some models appear to just have power fists but I'm gonna say they just have their claws retracted (Cheers Matt for the idea)

Now we have dinner Infernus marines. I'm exceptionally proud of the flames on these models.

Last up some Hell blasters 

These guys are ready to fling plasma at anyone . I'm really like the yellow on the models makes them really stand out and it looks really nice.

A new Project !

 I have spoken on here (I think I have but definitely n the old socials) about wanting a new army as I wasn't feeling the votann at all. Orks were my initial thought and idea. Sadly real life had serious questions about where I would store another horde army in my hobby space. So I turned to look at the elite armies. I settled on space marines, none of the others appealed to me and yes I know they are the poster boys for 40k but none of the other elite style armies really floated the boat. I found some very nice proxy space marines on Etsy. Again from the station forge range. With some money from a sold votann army, voucher and Christmas money I ordered a few squads and a leader unit! The packages have slowly started to arrive at my house and I have been assembling them when I can. So far I have 20 terminators 10 normal and 10 assault.

They aren't bad prints at all and go together super easy.  

I also got a commander now this one looks surprisingly similar to a certain character in 40k. The strongest generic character I can find is a terminator captain so that's what my commander will be. Handily the company sent several options so I ended up with 2 models!!

The more  dramatic one  well be my commander not sure what I will do the other one yet. I have a couple more squads to build and one last squad on the way as I was sent a wrong squad by mistake. Still a space marine squad just not they one I ordered and the company said keep that squad as an apology. So lovely service from South Of resin. I would highly recommend them.

Tanks for the presents

 Christmas has been and gone and I was very lucky to get a few more tanks for my guard . They are all painted up so I shall unveil them here for you!

Scout sentinal 

First up a new sentinal, this time of the scout variety to grant me that awet bonus on my indirect fire weapons. Kitted out with a las cannon and a hunter killer missile. It can be a good anti vehicle threat as well as a spotter. 

Proxy Manticore

Speaking of  indirect fire. The next armoured vehicle I got was this awesome 3d printed rocket launcher, I plan on using it as a proxy Manticore to rain some lead down on the enemy.  This was from an Etsy store and read a really good print plus brilliant to put together. It came from this store Culverin Models

Proxy Crassus 

From the same store mentioned above I also got this giant APC. It will proxy as a Crassus, I'm going to pack this with ogryns and hope it survives the trip up the battles field to deliver it's angry cargo. 

That's it all painted in my kinda of urban camo scheme I seemed to have adopted. To make my vehicles all have a vague matching scheme. 

 

A blog post!!

 Wow it's been a fair bit hasn't it!! I've had Christmas and all manner of life things thrown at me but I have been getting on with models and gaming. After having a look at schedules I have managed to get Monday to be game night at the club I attend. This means if I'm not working I can usually go and play a game now. I have managed a good number of games which is good fun. More losses than wins but fun times! 😂

Also around this time I discovered the joy of Etsy in particular the look and price of station forge models. I have my eyes of a few infantry models and I have purchased the proxy lord solar and some Krieg looking infantry. 

He's all painted and will be entered into the club's painting competition!

The Krieg type infantry has had their bases done but need undercoating at the moment. 

Christmas rolled through and the armoured ranks of my guard were bolstered by some artillery, scout sentinal and an armoured transport. All lovely 3d prints apart from the sentinel.  They are currently being painted. That's a bit of a catch up!
